Parker Receives Award of Excellence from MBIA
At a ceremony held at Turf Valley Country Club, the Maryland Builder Industry Association (MBIA) awarded Parker Design Build the Award of Excellence for Kitchen Remodel. This is the third year that Parker has been recognized by the association for remodeling excellence at the MBIA Remodeling Awards.
“These award winners are examples of the creativity and talent in our industry,” said Lori Graf, CEO of the MBIA Association. “The projects range from small bathroom remodels to whole-house custom construction and we are proud to showcase their work,” she added.
An evaluation team that consisted of building industry professionals from around the Baltimore Metropolitan area rated all entries. The criteria used to judge the entries included: quality of construction, degree of difficulty, value and cost effectiveness and unique and creative design approach. The awards are an annual opportunity for members to gain professional recognition and credibility. The competition is open to all MBIA Remodelers and Custom Builder Council members who have completed projects meeting category requirements.
The kitchen remodel was part of a larger remodeling project which included renovations to the family room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room.
In addition to creating a more open floor plan, Parker provided custom mill work, cabinetry, built-ins, lighting, and flooring to create a cohesive living area. Built-in cubbies also made the mud room and laundry room more usable for the homeowner’s needs.
“This project really shows how the design build process keeps the project on-time and on-budget, from the start. We discussed and addressed many of their concerns, during the design process, which allowed the project to flow seamlessly from start to finish. This approach provides a far better remodeling experience for our clients, with less stress, while allowing their vision to come to life,” notes Chris Parker, President of Parker Design Build Remodeling.
The MBIA Remodeling and Custom Building Awards of Excellence Program recognizes the best remodeler in Baltimore and the surrounding Maryland areas. The awards program has been held annually for over 25 years. Builders and remodelers who are members of the MBIA demonstrate a higher level of commitment to industry standards and best practices. In addition, these industry professionals often provide customers with superior and creative projects that are sensitive to the existing structure and make appropriate use of the existing building elements, while being compatible with their communities.
