Get Inspired with 2024 Paint Colors of the Year
Every year the design community is eager to find out what colors will be trending in the coming year. In this article, we have the 2024 colors of the year, as chosen by national paint manufacturer’s. We think this year’s trends lean towards earthy nature-inspired tones and coastal inspired blues. No matter what colors you choose, with these options, you’re sure to provide a cozy environment for anyone. We think these will also serve as great accent colors for renovating or redesigning your home interiors in 2024. So, here are the picks and colors we expect to see more of in the coming year!
A Coastal Blue by Sherwin Williams
This Sherwin Williams Upward SW 6239 blue with calm gray undertones is easily paired with cool pastels and has plenty of accent colors to match! Coordinate this paint with SW 7006 Extra White or SW 9109 Natural Linen to start. This color could work well in almost any room of the home and Sherwin Williams shows you examples of it’s use in bedrooms, kitchens, living rooms, bathrooms, and more!
Additional blue hues announced for 2024 colors of the year are Thermal by C2 and Blue Nova by Benjamin Moore.
Cozy Comfort with Persmimmon
In their “Renewed Comfort Color Collection,” you will instantly feel the warmth of this color inspired by HGTV Home by Sherwin Williams. Persimmon HGSW 6339 is an earthy tone to uplift and refresh any room and pairs well with a variety of neutrals. This color, in particular, can really soften a space. Add layered textures or complimentary accent colors, as featured in the collection, and your room will instantly feel more comfortable.
Go Deep Olive with Ironside
Dutch Boy’s senior brand manager said, in a recent press release, that they are “taking a comforting approach; embracing restoration and nature, while bringing harmony into the home” with this trend in 2024 colors of the year to watch. Ironside (422-7DB) is a moody paint color trend and it’s definitely all about nature and relaxation. The suggested color palette includes a brown, creamy white, and blue as accent colors.
Dare to Go Dark with Cracked Pepper
Behr’s moody Cracked Pepper (PPU18-1) is as close to a black charcoal as most people will dare to go but it can really evoke a curated look to any room. We think this would be beautiful in a modern or rustic farmhouse setting and accented with soft textures. It could also go industrial and be used to accent archtectural elements or metallic accents.
